Masters Council
The American Masters Council
The American Masters Council (AMC) was created to bring together Martial Art and Academic Professionals to share and expand their knowledge of Self-Defense and the business of education. The 7 seat Council was also created to assist in the certification and accreditation of martial arts programs of instruction as well as the instructors who teach them.
It is our hope to become a powerful force in the martial arts community, setting standards of excellence in our teaching methods as well as our standards of business practice. We will strive to ensure that all members and member institutions utilize only the most effective and reliable means of conducting the self defense training and life skills of our youth and adults.
Membership is open to everyone regardless of affiliation, style or system. We are not interested in politics and do not interfere or dictate in the way that members run their organization or any other affiliation in which they may be involved.
When a Council seat becomes available, we petition the senior members of the ACAF to determine the new council member. Petitioners must be at least 4th Degree Black Belt, hold either Full Instructorship in an eclectic art or Master Instructor certification in a traditional one.
When requested, we strive to assist members in any way possible through our network of instructors and educators. The council has Standards and Technical Advisors who are also available to assist members in the creation of programs of instruction high in quality and excitement.
The council issues certifications for instructor titles and certifications as well as academic accreditation. Applicants for instructor certification and accreditation are vetted by the council Standards Board by completing stringent application processes and background checks by a private investigation company.
If the AMC appeals to you, take the next step by joining the council and exploring the endless possibilites we have to offer.
